Contractors and builders
AI automation for contractors.
Every lead answered. Every change order in writing.
We build AI systems for contractors that keep work moving while you are on site: the call you could not take from the roof, the bid nobody followed up, the change order agreed with a nod. They run on the project software you already use, and every price, scope and signature stays with you.

Where the hours go
What waits while you are on the job.
01
Calls that ring while you are on a roof, in a crawlspace or halfway through a cut, and go to voicemail.
02
Site visits driven to for jobs that were never a fit: outside your area, not your kind of work, or no budget yet.
03
Bids that go out and are never followed up, because the week went to the jobs you already won.
04
Change orders agreed on site with a nod and written up later, or never.
05
Homeowners texting to ask where the job stands, when the answer is already in a daily log nobody sent them.
06
Subs confirmed one call at a time, and their insurance certificates and lien waivers chased by hand.
Lead follow-up
From a new lead to a booked site visit.
The lead still gets an answer, and a fit gets a site visit.

Checked against your rules
- A fitYour open site-visit slots are offered, and the lead lands where you track jobs.
- Not your area or your workA polite no, so nobody waits on you.
- Large, unclear or urgentA personYou, at once. On a gas smell: get clear, call 911, and a person is paged.
- It takes the job details: what the work is, the address, the timeline, and photos of the space.
- It checks them against your rules: your service area, the work you take on, the jobs you pass on.
- Water coming in goes to you at once. On a gas smell the caller is told to get clear and call 911, and a person is paged.
- It never gives a price. Estimates stay with you.

How the setup goes
Set up in hours, not weeks.
From the free audit to an agent that answers for your contracting business, in five steps.
- Step 01Start here
Free audit
A few questions about how your business runs: who calls, what they ask, what you book and where it goes wrong. The written assessment is yours either way.
You getA written assessment
- Step 02
What it has to know
We collect your hours, services and areas, the prices you publish and the questions you answer every week. You send what you have. We ask for the rest.
You getNothing invented: it only says what you gave it
- Step 03
Train
We write its instructions in your wording and set its rules: what it may answer, what it may book and what it must hand to a person.
You getAn agent that sounds like your business
- Step 04
Set up, with you
We connect your number, your calendar and the place your inquiries go. Then we call it together, and you hear it answer your own questions before any customer does.
You getA test you approve
- Step 05
Live, then tuned
It starts on the calls you choose: after hours, or only the ones nobody answered. In the first week we read the conversations with you and correct what it missed.
You getA first-week review
It goes live when you have heard the test calls and said yes.

Bid follow-up
A bid with no answer gets a follow-up drafted from the bid itself. You approve it before it sends. A signed bid is set up as a job, and a question about scope or price comes to you.
- A voice note from site
- Photos of the change
- Change order drafted
- You set the price
- The client signs
Change orders
From the site to signed
Your lead sends a voice note and photos from the site. The change order is drafted from them, you set the price and approve it, and the client signs before the work goes ahead.
- Update drafted
- Progress: to the homeowner
- Money, delays, problems: your PM first
Customer service
Homeowner updates
Each week an update is drafted from your daily logs and photos. Progress goes to the homeowner. Anything about money, a delay or a problem goes to your project manager first.
- A milestone is done
- Draw raised, changes added
- You check the draw
- Paid
Unpaid: a reminder
Accounting and invoicing
Milestone to draw
When a milestone in the contract is done, the draw is raised from your payment schedule with the signed change orders added, and matched in your books. You check it before it goes. An unpaid draw gets a reminder on your schedule.
These work inside your project software and your books, so each is a custom system.
Your software
It runs on what already runs your jobs.

- Bids and change orders

Buildertrend and CoConstruct. Buildertrend connects through the partner apps in its own Marketplace (QuickBooks, Xero, HubSpot, Salesforce) and has no Zapier app, so we check what your account can reach before anything is scoped. CoConstruct is moving its builders into Buildertrend, so we plan for Buildertrend.
JobTread. Through JobTread's open API or its Zapier app, which can create customers, jobs, tasks and daily logs.
Procore. Through Procore's API or the Zapier app Procore built.
Houzz Pro. Its Zapier app brings leads and projects into Houzz Pro, one way only and on some packages, so anything that has to read back out of Houzz Pro is checked before it is scoped.
Jobber. For specialty trades on Jobber: through its API or its Zapier app, on the plans that include it.
CompanyCam. Your job photos, through CompanyCam's Zapier app.
QuickBooks, Google Sheets, Gmail, Slack. Already on the list of what we connect to.
What your plan allows is the first thing the free audit checks.
A tool or a build
Buy the feature when the feature is enough.
Your project software has AI of its own now. Buildertrend drafts homeowner updates with AI Client Updates. JobTread and Houzz Pro draft estimates with built-in AI. Procore has agents that draft daily logs and RFIs. Jobber has a Receptionist that answers calls and texts and books work. If you run one of them and it covers the job, switch it on, and we will say so in the audit.
Have something set up or built when the work crosses systems (the phone, the project software, the books), when the rules are your own, or when the feature cannot see the rest of the job.
| Option | You pay | It does |
|---|---|---|
| Your software's own AI | Its plan or add-on fee | What the vendor built, inside that software |
| An agent set up for you | From $900 to set up, then the minutes used | Answers, takes the job details, books the site visit |
| A custom system | From $2k, scoped at 2 to 6 weeks | Chases bids, writes up change orders, raises the draws |
Your people
What the system never signs.
- 01
Safety and emergencies. Water coming in, a gas smell or anything unsafe on a job goes to a person, every time. On a gas smell the caller is told to get clear and call 911. PHMSA: what to do about a gas leak (opens in a new tab)
- 02
Prices, scope, change orders and permits. The system drafts from your notes and chases the signature. The price, the scope, what goes in the contract, what your license covers and whether a job needs a permit are your team's.
- 03
Homes built before 1978. Paid work that disturbs paint in a home built before 1978 falls under the EPA's lead-safe rules, and the firm doing it must be certified. The system can ask the year the house was built and flag it. What the job needs is your call. EPA: lead-safe rules for contractors (opens in a new tab)
- 04
Consent for texts and calls. Automated texts and AI voice calls to homeowners need their consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. In February 2024 the FCC ruled that an AI-generated voice counts as an artificial voice under that law. Replying to someone who contacted you first is where these systems start. FCC: the TCPA applies to AI voices (opens in a new tab)
This is how we set it up, not legal advice.

FAQ
Questions from contractors.
How much does AI automation cost for a contractor?
A simple agent setup, such as an AI receptionist that answers your calls, takes the job details and books the site visit, costs from $900 and takes hours. A custom system, such as bid follow-up or draw invoicing inside your project software, costs from $2k and is scoped at 2 to 6 weeks. The audit that tells you where to start is free.
Does it work with Buildertrend, JobTread or Procore?
JobTread and Procore, yes: each has an API and a Zapier app. Buildertrend connects through the partner apps in its own Marketplace and has no Zapier app, so we check what your account can reach before anything is scoped. What your plan allows is the first thing the free audit checks.
Can AI write my estimates?
The numbers stay yours. What the system does is collect what an estimate needs before you drive out (the work, the address, the timeline, photos of the space) and follow the bid up after it goes. If you want AI drafting the estimate itself, JobTread and Houzz Pro have it built in, and we will tell you in the audit if that covers it.
Can AI answer my phone while I am on a job site?
Yes. When you cannot pick up, it answers, asks what the work is and where, checks that against your service area and the work you take on, and books the site visit on your calendar. A large job, anything unclear or anything urgent goes to you at once. It never gives a price.
Will it replace my office manager or my estimator?
No. It takes the chasing off their desk: the bid with no answer, the change order not yet written up, the homeowner asking for an update. Anything that needs judgement (a price, a new date, a problem on site) goes to them.
How do I stop driving out to tire kickers?
Ask first, then drive. The system asks every new lead what you would ask on the phone (the work, the address, the timeline, and whether there is a budget yet, if you want that asked) and books a site visit only when the answers fit your rules. The rest get a polite answer, and anything unclear comes to you.
Will homeowners know they are talking to AI?
Yes. Callers are told they are speaking with an AI assistant. It answers in your words, from what you taught it, and hands the conversation to a person when your rules say so.
We are a two-person remodeling crew. Is this for us?
If missed calls are the problem, a simple agent setup costs from $900, and that is where a small crew starts. A custom system costs from $2k. If a feature your project software already includes covers what you need, we will tell you in the audit.
What eats your week?
Tell us in one sentence. The audit is free.
